ABOUT
Jessica Wolff is registered Landscape Architect (PLA) based in the southeastern Pennsylvania region.
She grew up exploring the woods of hilly, suburban Pittsburgh where she was influenced by the city’s industrial heritage. Along with family roots in northeastern Pennsylvania’s coal mining territory, Jessica developed a passion for studying reclaimed brownfield sites, formerly industrial sites that were transformed into beautiful, sustainable and usable spaces for people and wildlife.
Jessica is also interested in “learning landscapes”: sites as teaching grounds. Most recently, she worked on rain gardens at her children’s school from the grant funding process to conceptual design all the way through the installation and maintenance phases.
Having worked at award-winning landscape architecture and planning firms, she has experience designing at various scales and with a variety of landscape architectural and planning project work types ranging from small site design to large scale master planning, urban streetscapes, residential properties, institutional and campus plans, green roofs, stormwater management design, planting design, public art installation design, and site features detailing, in addition to community-building efforts such as leading design charrettes.
In addition to her practice work, Jessica has been a design studio instructor for 11 years. She has taught courses in design, graphics and interdisciplinary studios at The Boston Architectural College, Thomas Jefferson University and Northeastern University. She has won awards for her teaching and has published her thesis work at The Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Jessica is the mother of 3 young, active boys who also love to draw, build, and experience nature. She loves to learn through their fresh vision about what the natural world can teach us.
Lupine: wolf-like, an homage to Jessica’s family name. Lupine is also a species of plant which cleans toxic sites and regenerates damaged soils, leaving behind something beautiful from a state of destruction.
